Water U courses approved for CEUs/CECs

A number of states have acknowledged the value of Water University on-line courses, and have agreed to accept Water University on-line courses for Continuing Education Units or Continuing Education Credits.  The lists of states and individual policies are constantly changing, so Water University advises all students to consult their appropriate state officials before attending class to ensure their course will be accepted.

Required Material

To ensure that students receive CEUs/CECs for their participation, they will require, at minimum, a genuine Water U certificate of completion, which can only be obtained by completing an appropriate Water U course that will include an enrollment fee and a completion quiz.

States may require additional material to determine credit for specific courses. Each Water U certificate of completion includes a justification page that lists a course description, speaker bio and educational outcomes for the completed course. These two documents should be sufficient for most students to receive credit.

The Water University Advantage

Water University is the leader in providing on-line training to the water industry. It has attained this position by building a robust on-line training system that has been accepted as a method of obtaining continuing education.

Record Keeping: A key requirement to offering high-level training, education and instruction is detailed record keeping of students and student activities. This allows Water University to endorse student participation with a high degree of confidence, and verify student participation years after course completion.

Testing: Water University's testing module confirms a level of student participation far in advance of an on-line presentation alone, or even a sign-in sheet for on-site training. The testing modules includes limited retakes, time limits, randomized order and other features that prevent cheating.

Additional Course Material: The Water U course module allows students to access additional handouts, documents and websites that are often not available in a webinar-only or classroom-only formats.

High-quality presentations: NRWA and Water University are committed to the presenting only the highest-quality material to the water industry. All presentations are pre-screened and vetted to ensure that every course is of the best quality and of use to the water industry or to utility management.
